Name: Daidouji Tomoyo
Nickname(s): None
Age: 12
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Birthday: September 3rd
Place of Birth: Tomoeda, Japan
Current Residence: Tomoeda, Japan
Magical Abilities: None
Hair: Tomoyo has long, straight black hair that falls to her waist. She says that her mother had her grow it out so that she would look like Kinomoto Nadeshiko, Sakura’s mother. She generally keeps it back with a headband, but occasionally puts it into pigtails or pins it to hang down her back.
Eyes: Tomoyo’s eyes are big, wistful, and dark blue. Whenever she thinks of Sakura, they sparkle.
Skin: Tomoyo has smooth, extremely pale skin.
Build: Tomoyo is probably about average build for a twelve-year-old girl. Though she has little in the way of breasts, her figure has a certain grace about it. She is slightly taller than Sakura, and about the same weight.
Personality: Tomoyo is a very kind, polite, and cheerful little girl. She cares deeply about others and is always ready to lend a helping hand. She speaks in a very formal way, giving her words a sort of elegance about them, and treats everyone with respect. Tomoyo is generally calm and levelheaded, and even when bad things happen to her, she is always sure that it will work out in the end. She continually faces life with a smile, only becoming distressed when the people she loves aren’t happy. Tomoyo is very observant, and often knows when people are in love with someone even before they know themselves. She is very intelligent and gets perfect grades in school, which she admits to but doesn’t brag about. Tomoyo is active in the school choir, and often sings solos for them due to her wonderful voice. She also goes away sometimes to singing competitions, which she is sure to win. Tomoyo is also a good cook, and Kero always looks forward to when Tomoyo makes him something to eat.
Tomoyo has developed an obsession with Sakura. Wherever Sakura is, Tomoyo is sure to be at her side, following her around with a video camera. Tomoyo’s two favorite hobbies are filming Sakura and making costumes for her Clow Card-capturing endeavors. She comes up with the designs for each costume herself, and sews them each by hand. Even before Sakura became the Cardcaptor, Tomoyo had a routine of designing her clothes and videotaping her. She has an entire room in her house with a huge TV dedicated to watching Sakura’s heroics that she has recorded. She is very adamant about filming every moment of Sakura’s life, and whenever she misses an opportunity to film Sakura doing magic or even everyday activities, she sees it as a day wasted.
However, even though she is in love with Sakura, Tomoyo is not selfish. She is not at all jealous when Sakura falls in love with Syaoran, but instead encourages her and tries to set up opportunities for Syaoran and then Sakura to confess their love for one another. Tomoyo would rather see Sakura happy than have Sakura be hers, and says that as long as Sakura is smiling, Tomoyo will never be sad. She is completely selfless and dedicates her life to making Sakura happy. Even though she is fiercely loyal to her current friends, she loves making new ones and is always welcoming when meeting new people.

Parents: Tomoyo’s mother is Daidouji Sonomi, head of Daidouji Toy Company. Tomoyo’s father is not in the picture, though Sakura is pretty sure he’s not dead. Most likely he and Sonomi are divorced or were never married.
Siblings: None
Other Family: Amamiya Masaki is Tomoyo’s great-grandfather, though the two have never met.
Close Friends: Tomoyo’s best friend is Sakura, and she is always at her side. However, the two girls often spend time with Rika, Chiharu, and Naoko, to eat lunch together or go to a fun shop. As Syaoran started to realize his feelings for Sakura, Tomoyo was always there to offer a kind word or to cheer him on with his confession, and the two became good friends. Tomoyo and Meilin developed a close bond during the second movie as the two tried to set up ways for Sakura to confess to Syaoran. Now that Sakura and Syaoran are spending all their time together, Meilin has become almost as good a friend to Tomoyo as Sakura is.
Number One: Kinomoto Sakura is the person that Tomoyo loves most.
General History: Tomoyo is very rich, but not spoiled. She and her mother Sonomi live in a huge, ornate mansion outside of Tomoeda. They have a staff of maids to take care of their everyday needs, and also employ an all-female team of bodyguards to protect Tomoyo when she is out alone. Tomoyo always has the money for whatever she needs and can be seen driving around Tomoeda in a limousine with her bodyguards, followed by a private van to store each of Sakura’s costumes. Sonomi gained this wealth through the success of her toy company, but the company often keeps her very busy and she doesn’t have very much time to spend with Tomoyo. Tomoyo has said that some days she doesn’t even see her mother at all, instead alone in the house with all of the maids. The maids are kind, but they could never provide true companionship to Tomoyo, and so she has dedicated her free time to hobbies she can perform alone.
Tomoyo transferred to Tomoeda Elementary in third grade and met Sakura for the first time when the two were assigned to sit next to each other. Sakura was instantly friendly, saying that since the two were in the same class she hoped they could be friends. Tomoyo had forgotten her eraser that day, so Sakura passed her a small bunny-shaped eraser of her own to use. Sakura whispered to Tomoyo that she could keep it. This was what started Tomoyo’s obsession with Sakura. The rabbit eraser is locked a special box in Tomoyo’s room and she says it is the most important thing to her, being the first item that Sakura has ever given her.
Tomoyo was the first person Sakura told about the Clow Cards, and Tomoyo remained faithful to the end. She constantly has new inventions from her mother’s company to give Sakura to help the two stay in touch, and has helped Sakura on many an occasion to capture a Clow Card or transform it into a Sakura Card. Tomoyo has been the victim of both the Song Card and the Voice Card due to her wonderful singing voice, and helped to capture both of them with her talents.
Daidouji Tomoyo placed the video into the VCR slot and watched it slide into the machine. She excitedly awaited the familiar click of the high-tech player, the screen flashing to life. In only a few seconds, there it was, filling up the entire wall: the face of Kinomoto Sakura, a face that had never seemed cuter. Despite herself, Tomoyo squealed in delight. She had to constantly remind herself that Sakura wasn’t actually in the room, that Tomoyo didn’t need to film the moment because it was already on tape. The stereo system was the best that money could buy, and Sakura’s adorable voice rang through Tomoyo’s ears as if she were standing a foot away.
“Hoeeeee! Tomoyo-chaaaaan!”
“Yes, Sakura-chan?” Tomoyo responded quietly with a smile. Now she remembered. She had watched this particular video yesterday. Her gaze wavered from the familiar sequence to the unfinished dress on the seat next to her. It appeared to be made of silk but in reality was a tight-fitting waterproof material that was easy for movement. It was pale pink, Sakura’s favorite color, with baby blue sleeves and a matching hat for Sakura’s head. Tomoyo sighed contentedly. Nothing could keep her attention for more than a few minutes this morning—now that she saw the dress again, of course she had to finish it.
Tomoyo reached for the remote and turned down the volume a few notches so as not to distract her, but kept the video on. She reached for her sewing machine and pushed the pink fabric into one end, holding it steadily while a fresh line of stitches appeared down one side. She had no need to measure Sakura for clothing anymore. She had all of Sakura’s measurements memorized more clearly that she could have told you the times tables. She held up the dress to the light and frowned. Unsatisfied, she began to carefully pull out the stitches. It was good, but imperfect. When it came to Sakura, everything had to be perfect. For Sakura was perfect herself, almost godlike, in Tomoyo’s eyes.
“Thank you for everything, Syaoran. You’re the best boyfriend in the entire world.”
Tomoyo stopped in the middle of de-stitching for a moment to watch Sakura and Syaoran hug on video. Even though they had been together for a few weeks at the time the video was taken, Syaoran still blushed at Sakura’s touch, and Sakura still seemed unsure that their embrace was real. Watching the past was interesting, especially because Tomoyo knew what would happen in their future. Slowly, Sakura and Syaoran would become infinitely confident in their relationship, putting their complete trust in one another. Tomoyo was glad. Syaoran made Sakura so happy, something that of course made Tomoyo happy in turn. Who says you can’t be happy if the person you love doesn’t love you back? If Tomoyo ever felt depressed, which was a rare occasion in itself, all she had to do was look at Sakura’s smiling face. Sakura was sure to bring the light back into Tomoyo’s eyes. That’s why this dress needed to be absolutely perfect. Tomoyo needed to thank Sakura simply for being who she was.
